Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream (Rich, Creamy & Easy to Make)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and heat gently until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture feels warm but not boiling
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth and fragrant
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator until completely cold, about 2–4 hours
  4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn until it thickens to a soft-serve consistency
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and smooth the top with a spatula
  6. Freeze for several hours until firm and scoopable, then serve with a creamy, velvety texture
