Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 170 g / 6 oz each
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels so the glaze sticks evenly and the fish roasts properly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Arrange the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet with space between each piece.
  5. Spoon or brush half of the maple glaze over the salmon, coating the tops generously.
  6. Bake the salmon for 10 minutes until the edges begin turning lightly golden and the glaze starts bubbling.
  7. Remove the tray briefly and brush the remaining glaze over the fillets for extra flavor and shine.
  8. Return the salmon to the oven and bake for another 4–6 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the glaze looks glossy and caramelized.
  9. Sprinkle chopped parsley and sesame seeds over the salmon while it is still warm.
  10. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving so the juices settle and the glaze thickens slightly.
