Ingredients

  • 1 can 450 g refried beans
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 3 medium avocados
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups 360 ml sour cream
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • 1 cup 250 ml salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups 170 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup 180 g diced Roma tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup 40 g sliced black olives
  • 1/3 cup 30 g sliced green onions
  • 300 g tortilla chips for serving

Method

  1. Spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom of a shallow serving dish.
  2. Stir the taco seasoning into the beans until well combined and smooth.
  3. In a bowl, mash the avocados with lime juice, cilantro, and garlic salt until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  4. Carefully spread the guacamole over the bean layer, creating an even surface.
  5. Mix the sour cream with the remaining taco seasoning until smooth and flavorful.
  6. Gently spread the seasoned sour cream over the guacamole, fully covering it to help maintain its fresh green color.
  7. Spoon the salsa over the sour cream layer and spread it evenly without mixing the layers.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese across the entire surface.
  9. Scatter the diced tomatoes evenly over the cheese layer.
  10. Add the sliced black olives for a salty, savory finish.
  11. Sprinkle the green onions over the top for freshness and color.
  12. Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes to allow the layers to settle and the flavors to develop.
  13. Serve cold with crunchy tortilla chips and enjoy.
