Ingredients

  • 5 medium fresh limes washed and quartered
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp fine sea salt

Method

  1. Wash the limes thoroughly to remove any wax or residue from the peel.
  2. Cut each lime into quarters and remove the tough white center if desired for a smoother flavor.
  3. Add the lime pieces, cold water, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and salt to a blender.
  4. Blend for about 10–15 seconds until the liquid looks frothy and pale green but the lime peel is not completely pulverized.
  5. Place a fine mesh strainer over a large pitcher and carefully pour the mixture through it.
  6. Press gently with a spoon to extract the flavorful liquid while leaving behind the bitter pulp and peel pieces.
  7. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled limeade over the ice immediately.
  8. Garnish with thin lime slices if desired and serve while cold and frothy.
